Hemba was the largest claimant of CryptoPunks V1 (1054) and Autoglyphs (72) in 2017 and 2024 respectively. This also means that he also received that airdrop for CryptoPunks V2 after a bug was found within the original contract’s marketplace. During 2022, V1 CryptoPunks made a comeback after a developer created a wrapper contract and owners began listing them on Rarible. Since then Hemba has been one of the vocal leaders and supporters of the CryptoPunks V1 Community.

It would be good to point out how their was a lot of bad blood here too. Psyborg who commissioned Frank 30 v1 punks to make the wrap robbed me in 2024 and used my assets to buy online art galleries and rent the v1 head quarters in London. The full story is now on my channel here. Just click through if the whole truth interests you. Please be aware of this community as they simply block most V1 holders from their discord. It doesn’t represent most of us.
The thing is with Hemba, he’s friends say that he was the drive to making punks popular because he sold at the bottom. However as fair as we really know another 1054 people could have been involved with the project had he not claimed that many. I got 26 in 2007 and sold ten when I needed to buy food for my kids. They would have been more fluid if more people had claimed them at the start. Anyway as I say who knows?! It’s still a magical project. The V1s were funded with assets that weren’t Psyborgs though. He paid Frank 30 v1 punks to make the wrapper the week that he ripped off my v2 16 punks!
