Just because he's being 'radically transparent' doesn't mean that he doesn't have a foul company culture on his hands. You all are cheering this as another 'tech bro against the whiners' but think about WeWork that had a mega-childish culture under the hood. It is indeed fair that they were paid but if a company's culture is violent emotionally it implodes eventually. Like look at how it's already cost them money. 20 people sounds like 'no biggie', but 20 people and 4 months of salary? They're out easily a few mill because of this. I'm sorry but I work at a B School and not going DEI but being a global company is nonsense.
4 months severance.. Damage control?
This is far better than the usual dirty trick. Put the employee under scrutiny, put a gag HR team and harass them until they decide to leave.
