Easy to Spot Rare Dollar Coins – “Gold” Dollar Coin Errors
From 2007-2016, the mint released the first series of the presidential dollar coins (also known as the gold dollars (although they are not made of gold, only gold in color). The mint also decided to place edge lettering on the coins (a process they hadn’t done for some time on regular issue coins struck for circulation). In doing so, they made mistakes!
You can find several erros on these coins from:
1) Missing Edge Lettering
2) Doubled Edge Lettering
3) Partial (weak) Edge Lettering
4) Incuse (upside down and inverted) Edge Lettering
The easiest one to find is the missing edge lettering dollar coins so we will focus on those in this video since you need no trained eye or a scope to find them!
They are worth anywhere from $25-$200 in regular circulated condition!
